Dexter isn't just my dog—he's my family, my best friend, and the one constant source of unconditional love in my life. Through every good day and every difficult one, Dexter has been right by my side. He's been my comfort when I felt alone, my reason to smile when life felt overwhelming, and my loyal companion through it all.

Ironically, this is the exact same week six years ago I found out my father had cancer—my birthday week—only to lose him a month later. I cannot lose the second closest man I have ever had in my life again, in the same exact pattern.

Recently, Dexter was rushed to the vet with a high fever, lethargy, and no appetite. After tests, a mass was found in his abdomen, likely connected to his spleen. He needs an ultrasound and urgent surgery at a specialist clinic. Hearing those words felt like my world stopped. Right now, we're in a race against time to get him the surgery he desperately needs.

Anyone who has ever met Dexter knows how special he is. He has the kindest soul, the biggest heart, and a way of making everyone around him feel loved. The thought of losing him is something I can't put into words. The cost of the surgery, diagnostic testing, medications, and recovery care is more than I can afford on my own. Asking for help is not easy, but I will do anything for Dexter. He has given me years of unconditional love, and now he needs me to fight for him.
