Hi my name is Greyson and I am passionate about food. I have had a love of cooking, sharing meals with family and friends and experiencing new cuisine since I was a little boy. When it came time to choose my "mitzvah project" for my bar mitzvah, feeding the hungry was an easy decision. My parents have instilled in me three core spiritual pillars of life. 1. tzedakah- repairing our relationship with others by doing the right thing and is often translated as charity. 2. tefillah - the act of engaging in deep contemplation, self-examination often translated as prayer. 3. teshuvah- represents the act of returning to your highest, truest self often translated as repentance. Feeding those who are hungry fulfills these pillars in my opinion . Gifting a meal to someone who would otherwise go hungry can bring purpose to our lives, transform relationships, and improve someones quality of life.. for those giving and receiving. Please join me in fundraising for WC Kitchen. A non profit , non governmental organization NGO. Founded by Jose Andres in 2010. It provides fresh meals to people in the wake of natural disasters, climate crises, and humanitarian emergencies. To quote Jose Andre , "When people are hungry, send in cooks." Our goal is $1800 because in Judaism 18 is a lucky number... no matter what we achieve, thank you for helping support this amazing charity.
